Scan endeavors for a 18-year-old Louisiana secondary school graduate who fell over the edge a boat in the Bahamas this week have been suspended, the U.S. Coast Watchman said Friday, refering to the Bahamian military. A spokesperson for Louisiana State University told CNN that Cameron Robbins was on a senior trip to celebrate his graduation from University High Lab School in Baton Rouge when he fell off the boat Wednesday evening.
According to the U.S. military branch, the Royal Bahamas Defence Force, which had been looking for him, informed the Coast Guard on Friday that it was ceasing active search efforts and that additional assistance from the Coast Guard was not required. The U.S. Coast Gatekeeper had assisted with the hunt from Wednesday into Friday night, it said.
The Coast Guard stated, "We offer our sincere condolences to Cameron Robbins' family and friends. Prior to the suspension of the search, Robbins' high school baseball coach, Justin Morgan, told CNN that the teen was both a third baseman and a pitcher on the team. Morgan referred to Robbins as a "fierce competitor." Morgan stated to CNN, "Cameron is a child who is truly loved by his teammates, coaches, teachers, and fellow classmates." On the baseball field, he is an intense competitor. He puts in a lot of effort both on and off the field.
Morgan said the school local area has been battling since hearing the fresh insight about Robbins' vanishing. "The Robbins family has been and will continue to be in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time," he stated. The secondary school is worked under the college's School of Human Sciences and Training. Robbins went to the school for every one of the 13 years of his schooling, chief Kevin George told CNN subsidiary WBRZ.
"That's a special child who has spent his entire educational career here. He's a competitor, extraordinary youngster, incredible grin, incredible head of hair. Only one of the children you're so glad for when they cross the stage," George said. The kids contacted us asking if they could participate in a prayer circle. We evidently concurred. "In this trying time, we really appreciated their leadership," he continued.
Robbins is accepted to have fallen over the edge from a nightfall voyage close to Nassau, the Coast Watchman had said. Both the Royal Bahamas Police Force and the Royal Bahamas Defense Force have been contacted by CNN. The Bahamas government has called off the rescue for Cameron and we are returning to Baton Rouge," the family of Robbins stated in a statement. We need to thank the Bahamas government, the US Coast Watchman, the Unified Cajun Naval force and Representative Garrett Graves for all that they have accomplished for us. We are grateful to our loved ones, friends, and well-wishers for providing us with the privacy we need to properly remember and mourn our son in this difficult time.
